Hazard on the road

Automobile accidents

Just the other day I saw an road accident involving three vehicles. Two empty trailer trucks and sandwiched between them is a toyota crosswind. Today on my way to work, I saw another road accident involving a taxi cab and a toyota black car. Both accidents happened near the hour of midnight. One of the case of accident in ayala cor makati ave is because of the traffic light. It was not working.

It reminded me of what happened to former senator Rene Saguisag and his late wife Dulce Saguisag. Their accident happened a couple of hours past midnight. Everyday when we turn on the news, we learn about road accidents. It is such a common occurence and frankly that scares me. I remember when my sister was on her way to work at around 5 am. when a drunk tricycle driver hit the jeep she was on. A piece of shrapnel was embedded on her head and the driver - who was a very good man - took her to a nearby clinic and paid for her head to be stiched. She had a mild concussion and she had to be confined at MMC ParaƱaque. There was another time when we were on our way home from MOA at around 8 or 9pm when a bus driver cut infront of us to make a U-turn. My father pressed the break in time so we did not have a scratch on the owner jeep. Of course all of us at the back needed to get our bearings back because we were sprawled on the jeep floor.

The most scary car accident that my parents had happened early midnight when they were about to fetch my sister. A drunk driver mistook the distance of the turning point and ramned against the driver side of the our owner jeep. It just missed the gas tank by a few inches. Luckily it hit the left rear wheel and the car got underneath the jeep. The other car initially smashed the left side mirror which accounted for the blood on my dad's face. It wasn't that terrible but the thought that it could have been worse scared the hell out of me that night. I found out about it when my sister called and told me of what happened. I was so freaked out that I cried after hanging up the phone. I immediately called a friend of mine just so I could vent out.

I'm not that afraid of common things like snakes, bugs, and the like. My worst fear is that something bad happening to my family. Especially if it is caused by someone else in the form of an accident - like road related accident. It's just too traumatic for me. :( :( :(
